Comprehensive Range of Services, Regardless of Insurance Barriers

Orange County Eye Associates is committed to providing excellent, cost-effective care to any patient in need, regardless of insurance barriers by accepting cash payments.

With that goal in mind, we are pleased to provide transparent, easy-to-understand pricing for effective cash-based cataract surgery. If you are uninsured, underinsured, participate in a high-deductible plan or restrictive HMO with poor choices, or are a foreign national looking for a top US trained and licensed cataract surgeon offering cash cataract surgery, this information is for you.

Transparent pricing means you will know exactly what the cost of the service will be upfront. The fee for the anesthesiologist, surgeon, facility, intra-operative medications, and basic implants are all included in one low price. There are no hidden costs, charges or surprises. We can offer such competitive prices because we are physician owned and operated without any of the wasteful bureaucratic expenses associated with hospitals and large healthcare organizations.

Common Procedures & Costs

The list of procedures set forth below is a partial list of procedures available in this pricing model. If the procedure you believe you require is not listed below, feel free to call our contact number to inquire about availability and pricing. The prices listed are not negotiable and are available only to those who pay the entire amount in advance. We are able to offer these prices due to the lack of expense in processing the claims and to absent the risk for non-payment. Alternative payment arrangements can be made with human resource departments or divisions of self-insured entities if necessary.

NOTE:If you are scheduled for surgery at our facility and we are filing insurance for you, the following prices do not apply to you.
CATARACT SURGERY WITH INTRAOCULAR LENS IMPLANTS (cash) $3,149/eye
YAG LASER CAPSULOTOMY (cash) $349/eye
PTERYGIUM EXCISION WITH CONJUNCTIVAL AUTOGRAFT (cash) $3,149/eye
UPPER EYELID BLEPHAROPLASTY (cash) $2,499/eye

What's Included in the Price?

The prices for the procedures below include the facility fee, the surgeon’s fee and the anesthesiologist’s fee. The initial consultation with the surgeon is also included, as is routine preoperative testing, preoperative intraocular lens measurements, and uncomplicated follow-up care. The duration of postoperative care is different for each surgical procedure. Therefore, your surgeon will inform you at the initial consultation the amount of postoperative care covered by the price. The $250 initial consultation fee is applied to the total cost of the procedure should surgery be indicated. If surgery is not indicated or you decide not to proceed any further after the initial consultation, the $250 consultation fee will be charged and any remaining prepaid funds will be returned in full. Our goal is for the price to be as transparent as possible.

A list of what is NOT included in the fee is as follows:

    • Any diagnostic studies necessary prior to surgery, including medical clearance, bloodwork, EKG, or consultations with specialists to determine medical risk/management, spectacle or contact lens correction (if needed) after surgery.
    • Expenses or fees resulting from complications or unforeseeable events during or following surgery. Complications during typical cataract surgery are uncommon. Routine postoperative care is provided at no additional charge, but any additional procedure that may be required would be subject to additional charges.
    • Lodging or travel expenses including meals.
    • Prescription eyedrop medications. There are three types of prescription eyedrops used in routine cataract surgery. If you do not have prescription medication insurance coverage, our office can provide these medications to you at cost. There will be no mark-up to you (another hidden source of profit for hospitals) and invoices showing our cost will be provided.

Any premium implant lens or special refractive add-ons performed at the time of surgery. This price information will be provided prior to surgery but subsequent to the surgical consultation. Inquiries and estimates of these charges can be directed to Sandy, Surgical Coordinator, by telephone at 1-949-653-9500, or contact us using our online form

Payment Details

Payment in full is expected prior to consultation. Preferred methods of payment are Cashier’s Check or cash. Personal checks can be accepted, but must be received no less than 14 days before consultation appointment. Human resource departments or divisions of self-insured companies can make other arrangements if necessary.
