Daniel C. Kline, M.D. is the founder and CEO of Orange County Eye Associates. He was born and raised in East Lyme, Connecticut. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and obtained his medical degree cum laude from Yale University School of Medicine. He received his training in ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Kline has published many peer-reviewed articles and has given numerous presentations at ophthalmology meetings nationwide. He founded OC Eye Associates in 2008 with a vision to bring elite-level cataract surgery and general eye care to the Orange County community.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the California Medical Association, the Orange County Medical Association and serves on the executive board of the Orange County Society of Ophthalmology. He is on the medical staff of Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital located in Newport Beach, California.

Dr. Kline has been honored by Los Angeles magazine as one of the Super Doctors® 2013, 2014, 2015 Southern California Rising Stars. He is a recipient of The Patients' Choice Award in 2009, 2010, and 2012, and has received The Compassionate Doctor Recognition in 2011 and 2012. He was the highest-rated ophthalmologist in the Greater Newport Physicians Medical Group by doctors & patients in 2009 and was among the highest-rated for 2010-2012. He has been serving as a medical consultant for the NHL Anaheim Ducks and MLB Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim since 2008 and provides medical expert witness services throughout California and beyond.

Dr. Kline’s field of expertise includes cataract surgery using the newest techniques and lens implants, including advanced-technology intraocular lenses for the correction of near and distance vision and astigmatism. He provides free educational seminars and screenings for refractive surgery and performs many refractive procedures, including LASIK using the latest bladeless techniques. Dr. Kline provides medical eye examinations for both health maintenance and disease conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. In addition, he offers contact lens fitting and spectacle prescription services. He is also trained in functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery including Botox®.

Dr. Daniel Kline specializes in no stitch, no patch cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange using the latest accommodating, multifocal intraocular lens implants (IOL's) including Alcon Panoptix lenses, extended depth of focus (EDOF) lenses like Alcon’s Vivity lens, RxSight’s Light Adjustable Lens, and astigmatism-correcting toric lenses. Vision laser correction PRK and LASIK surgery, using Intralase (All-Laser, Bladeless), Custom (Wavefront), and Conventional technology are all provided at the practice, as well. Dr. Kline performs pterygium excision surgery using the latest sutureless fibrin tissue glue or "Tisseal" approach. Corneal Cross-Linking is provided at the practice for cornea ectasia patients, including patients with keratoconus. Dr. Kline is a medical doctor (M.D.) in the field of ophthalmology, an eye physician, and surgeon providing comprehensive eye care. His focus on vision and helping his patients see better includes the type of care provided by general eye doctors, optometrists, opticians, and ophthalmologists (Eye MD's). Doctor Kline can prescribe glasses and contact lenses and can write prescriptions for medications when indicated.

Exams can be performed in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Mandarin Chinese. We accept Medicare and are in-network for a full range of health plans and medical groups listed here and below. Additionally, we provide care for self-pay patients and pro-bono care for patients through the Share Ourselves (SOS) charity clinic in Costa Mesa.
